Having a small bathroom, doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style and functionality.

redesigning a smaller bathrooms can bring some problems to your thoughts around design and will often need to change accordingly.

When designing a small bathroom, you'll need to think much more carefully about the placement of your furniture. Slight changes in the positioning of furniture can make a huge difference to the feel and appearance of your bathroom.

Another, but less common way you can use space efficiently is by using a corner toilet, basin or bath, this could give the feel of extra space that you never previously had or free up some space for something different. You could install a short projection toilet, these have a smaller protrusion into your bathroom, which will give that bit of extra space you could use.

Removing your old bath and installing a shower tray is vary good way to give you more room. Using a low profile shower tray and a frameless shower screen will make your bathroom feel like it have much more space.

Wall hung basins and vanity units can give you that feeling of extra space and can also make your bathroom easier to clean. another option is using a slightly smaller basin or vanity units this can also make a big difference in a smaller bathroom.

Underfloor heating is always a good idea for a small bathroom, that way you can take out the radiator or towel warmer, giving you that bit of extra room or a whole new wall space, you didn't have before.

Frameless mirrors and mirror cabinets are a brilliant way to make your bathroom appear larger, they will not only reflect light but will also give the appearance of extra depth in the room. Mirror cabinets are really clever way to spread light and utilise otherwise unused space in a bathroom and are brilliant for storage.

Using light coloured tiles and light paint will help make the room seem larger. Good lighting can really open up a room, if you have a small bathroom, making it as light as possible is crucial.

White or other lighter shades will bounce light around the room to make it feel more welcoming.

Painting or tiling halfway up the wall can give the illusion that your bathroom is taller than it really is. The paint or tiles help create a difference between the floor and ceiling, which will give walls more depth, making them appear larger than they really are. Sometimes the size and shape of the wall & floor tiles can make a difference, also the way around you have them can make your room feel longer or taller.
